The place

Manoa stands in the coastal village of Ohoidertawun, on Kei Kecil, on a vast white-sand beach that stretches to the horizon when the tide draws back. It lies about fifteen minutes from the town of Langgur and thirty-five from the airport — remote enough to feel like the edge of the world, close enough to reach with ease.

We build gently, and give back to the sea what we borrow from it. In 2024 we planted four hundred mangroves along the beach in front of the house — a nursery for fish, crabs and birds, and a living shield against erosion — part of a simple promise to leave the reef, the forest and the shore richer than we found them.
