Nestled at the edge of a turquoise lagoon and facing the pristine beach of Ohoidertawun, Villa Tua embodies the rare essence of Southeast Maluku. Far from tourist routes, it is a soulful home infused with Kei tradition and the poetry of nature. Tropical woods, handwoven fibers, and carved objects tell their own stories in every room.
This charming villa accommodates up to 6 guests, offering two double bedrooms, a third versatile room that can serve as a lounge or study, an exceptional indoor veranda where craftsmanship becomes a sensory haven, and a tropical garden framed by the sea and horizon.
ULU Suite – Master Bedroom & Private Bathroom
The master bedroom opens gently onto the veranda. A majestic four-poster bed, carved from dense aged wood, stands like a sacred artifact at the heart of the room. Large wardrobes, raw cotton curtains, ritual driftwood ornaments, and handwoven fiber rugs create a soft, sunlit atmosphere.
The ensuite bathroom is an experience in itself:
A black terrazzo bathtub sits sculpturally on the floor, glowing beneath a woven ceiling. Carved mirrors, river stone basins, and subtle plays of shadow and light turn this into a minimalist sanctuary — intimate, raw, and peaceful. A pause in time, shaped for beauty.
NOA Suite – Wood, Light & Softness
Bathed in natural light and open to the forest, sea, and shimmering turquoise lagoon, the second suite breathes with the breeze. Bamboo ceilings, soft tones, raw cotton curtains, and ikat fabrics form a serene retreat. A small desk facing the trees completes this tranquil cocoon.
Private Bathroom
Organic and mineral, this bathroom brings together polished wood, volcanic stone, and daylight. Water flows like a whisper, and locally-sourced decorations echo the soul of the islands. Sunlight filters through wooden slats, casting graceful patterns across every morning ritual.
TEMAN Room – Tropical Office or Guest Bedroom
Flexible and inspiring, this space is perfect for families or long-term travelers. Two single beds can be used for children or friends. A spacious desk invites writing, creating, or working remotely. Bright wooden walls highlight colorful ikat textiles. Simple furniture and natural materials offer calm, framed by a peaceful view of the garden and sea.
A dining area beneath wicker pendant lights, with a raw teak table — ideal for shared meals or long conversations as the night falls.
A lounge corner with built-in couches and artisanal cushions, which can also sleep two occasional guests.
Indoor Veranda – The Tribal Cocoon
Between home and nature, the indoor veranda is the secret heart of Rumah Tua its unique signature space.
Semi-open and facing the sea, it is bathed in golden light.
Raw wood meets woven fibers, tribal lanterns mix with wall sculptures. Traditional fabrics, driftwood carvings, hanging baskets, and local ceramics create a poetic setting for rest and reflection. Here, you dream, meditate, or share quiet moments with the Banda Sea as your backdrop.
Outdoor – Tropical Garden & Endless Beach
Private beach-garden – Where Earth Embraces the Ocean
Step into the villa’s garden — a lush haven between white sand and horizon, where the bay curves gently to cradle the land.
Under the dancing shade of coconut palms, a path of natural stone and grass leads to carved log benches and coral rock seats. At the center, a stone table invites barefoot evenings under the stars, soft conversations, or simply listening to the tide.
Giant clam shells, stone altars, and lush tropical plants create a living tableau — intimate, raw, and almost sacred.
Villa Tua is the elegance of the essential, rooted in untouched land.
Here, in the Southeast Moluccan’s — far from the beaten path — each sunrise is an offering, and each night a quiet promise of peace.
